The Salvation Army and Grand Rapids Bicycle Company to Co-sponsor “Rock the Block” Block Party and Bike Safety Education Event
On Saturday, July 19th, The Salvation Army will “Rock the Block” when they partner with the Grand Rapids Bicycle Company to give-away more than 200 bicycle helmets as well as celebrate the Fulton Heights Corps Community Center annual block party. The “Rock the Block” event, which is scheduled from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Fulton Heights Corps Community Center, will feature a free helmet give-away, a prize drawing of three kids’ bicycles, and a bicycle safety course. Bicycle Techs from Ada Bike Shop will be available during the event to provide bicycle safety checks and basic bicycle adjustments. In addition, instruction will be available to those wishing to learn more about bicycle safety and preventative bicycle maintenance. Free snacks, refreshments along with a Bounce House, music and games and crafts will round-out the afternoon’s festivities. The Fulton Heights Corps Community Center is located at 1235 Fulton Street (corner of Fulton Street East and Fuller SE) in Grand Rapids.
